At Friends of the Portsmouth Juvenile Court, we understand that families experience all types of problems. Whether a two parent or single parent family, building and sustaining a child’s well-being can be a great challenge. Today’s youth are faced with dilemmas quite different than those of yesteryear. That’s why we work hard assisting parents with issues of drug and alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy and sexual misconduct. As a community partner, it is our goal to be available when you need us by providing support, education and information.

Through a series of workshops and sessions, Family Matters involve parents and kids in activities designed to teach new approaches to problem solving, enhance communication, teach peaceful conflict resolution and promote unity. With the understanding that the family is the strongest and most enduring influence in every person’s life, the goal of Family Matters is to equip family members to flourish at home and within their community.
